LEGO Universe is a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) currently being developed by the LEGO Group. The game will unite the fun, quality and creativity of a LEGO product with a virtual environment’s imaginative play possibilities!

Calling LEGO Universe “massively multiplayer” means that thousands of LEGO fans will be able to team-up in the gamespace. LEGO Universe will also be a “persistent” gameworld, constantly evolved by players’ actions.

Within LEGO Universe, players will safely create, build, quest and socialize together. This entirely new online world will be the spot for LEGO enthusiasts of any age to form their own fun adventures!

When i was a kid, LEGO to me meant little colorful blocks that you could use to build little cities, and to parents, it was a reason to wear shoes around the house. I have just recently found out that LEGO’s were not stuck in there old ways, but instead, they have inbraced the new technologies and enbedded these technologies into there toys. Don’t get me wrong, the classics never die, but there is nothing wrong with a little change and i think LEGO know this all to well.

One of LEGO’s most popular achivements, i am sure you have heard of it or even played it, LEGO Star Wars. Is just a example of there work. You have to stop and admire there determination to bring fun to the people, by animating a toy i am sure that at one point, everyone, wished that there little buddy living in the house of LEGO’s was real. Yeah, i know there was Barbies and Action figuers of all sorts, but almost everyone in america has played with LEGO’s.

IRiver showed off there W10 with calling capabilities at CES earlier this year. The official specs of the iRiver Wave includes a 4GB of storage space, WiFi, 3-inch touchscreen and excellent audio/ video support.It’s an iRiver PMP with a phone and it will be available at Korea’s KT Telecom March 9 for 150 euros ($188) with a one-year contract.

WiMAX, meaning Worldwide Inter-operability for Microwave Access, is a telecommunications technology that provides wireless transmission of data using a variety of transmission modes, from point-to-multipoint links to portable and fully mobile internet access. The technology provides up to 72 Mbit/s symmetric broadband speed without the need for cables. The technology is based on the IEEE 802.16 standard (also called Broadband Wireless Access). The name “WiMAX” was created by the WiMAX Forum, which was formed in June 2001 to promote conformity and interoperability of the standard. The forum describes WiMAX as “a standards-based technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL”.^[1]

Wi-Fi (IPA: /ˈwaɪfaɪ/) is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance, founded in 1999 as Wireless Internet Compatibility Alliance (WICA), comprising more than 300 companies, whose products are certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, based on the IEEE 802.11 standards (also called Wireless LAN (WLAN) and Wi-Fi). This certification warrants interoperability between different wireless devices.

The alliance was founded because many products did not correctly implement IEEE 802.11 and some included proprietary extensions. This led to incompatibilities between products from different manufacturers.

The Wi-Fi Alliance tests the wireless components to their own terms of reference. Products that pass become Wi-Fi certified and may carry the Wi-Fi logo. Only products of Wi-Fi Members are tested, because they pay membership and per-item fees. Absence of the Wi-Fi logo does not necessarily mean non-compliance with the standard.

In France, Poland, the United States, and some other countries, the term Wi-Fi often is used by the public as a synonym for wireless Internet (WLAN); but not every wireless Internet product has a Wi-Fi certification, which may be because of certification costs that must be paid for each certified device type.

Wi-Fi certification is provided for technology used in home networks, mobile phones, video games, and other devices that require wireless networking. It covers IEEE 802.11 standards, including 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n.
